Our ICT facilities
In Autumn 2002, we embarked on a project to incorporate ICT within the whole school.
The entire ICT project was managed by Leverstock - this included the essential building work, furniture, installation of the computer suite, servers, networking of the whole school and high quality training for all teachers and non teaching staff. The work was completed on time and with no disruption to normal school routines.
In February 2003, our brand new ICT suite was opened by Audley Harrison, MBE.
Our ICT facilities include an ICT suite plus PCs, laptops and whiteboards dispersed around the school.
- The ICT suite consists of 32 workstations each comprising a flat screen monitor, keyboard, mouse and a thin client terminal. The ICT infrastructure of the entire system is driven by a thin client network with all applications held on a central server which also controls all the terminals in the suite.
- There are 22 older PCs, distributed throughout classrooms, which have been given a new lease of life and are now controlled by the central server.
- In addition, teachers and administration staff have their own laptops or PCs which connect into the system.
- Three whiteboards distributed around the school.
We use a wide range of software to cover all aspects of the QCA units. This ranges from Microsoft Office applications to products from well known educational providers such as Sherston, Spa, 2Simple and Logotron
