Fleetville Junior School

Jeremy Loukes, Headteacher at Fleetville Junior School is passionate about ICT.  He believes that it delivers opportunity and a superior experience to pupils.

He wanted to move the school and staff forward with ICT and set about his research by visiting some of Leverstock’s customers.  After viewing state-of-the-art ICT equipment at Chaulden Junior School and Hammond JMI in Hemel Hempstead, Jeremy said “the impact that the interactive whiteboards were having on teaching was so immediate and so obvious, that I knew this was the way forward for us”.

One of the drivers for the ICT upgrade was progression of the Fleetville Animation Academy, which uses video technology to enable children to make and show films.  The natural way forward for the Academy was to enable development the animation on-line.

He contacted several ICT suppliers and chose Leverstock because “they worked well with us, they listened, they were always available and focused on getting it right.  We felt that Leverstock provided ‘best value’.  It wasn’t about the price, it was about the soft issues”, explained Jeremy.

The school in partnership with Leverstock, embarked on an ambitious plan to install new server technology and interactive whiteboards in all twelve classrooms, within a short space of time over the school Christmas holiday.

All of the work was completed during the Christmas break ready for use in the new term and has made a substantial impact on teaching and learning at Fleetville Junior School.
