Their Story

The Details

Speech Marks “An outstanding learning environment, proudly preparing today’s students for their future roles in the real 21st century”

When Simon Atkinson took over as Headteacher at St Stephen’s, he instantly saw the potential in knowledgeable teachers and enthusiastic students, but all were being held back by out-dated IT Infrastructure. Often the teachers were unable read or send emails, had problems accessing files and PC’s could take up to 40 minutes to become usable in the mornings.

In June 2016, the senior leaders and governors took the brave decision to review the school’s learning environment and after addressing the every-day issues, invest in a variety of interactive technologies to enhance the engagement levels of students.

Not only did St Stephen’s invest in the technology, but they recognised the value of investing in staff training ensuring every investment is used to its maximum potential.

Working together the school’s team and Leverstock have created an environment that encourages all learners to be enthusiastic, engaged and strive for the very best.

St Stephen's CE Primary has been serving the community in Westbourne Park for 150 years.

Today, headteacher Simon Atkinson is proud to lead a welcoming, bright, happy and thriving school environment where children from Nursery to Year 6 enjoy their learning and strive for the very best.
